The Four Horsewomen Make History

As a wrestling fan, we love it when our favorites make history and make moments to last a lifetime. I recently saw a post on social media that said to rank the Four Horsewomen from better to worse. How about no? I will not choose between the Horsewomen like that. They all made history on so many levels and deserve the spotlight equally.

Charlotte Flair

Charlotte Flair has made so many history making moments and she won’t stop there. Flair might be the daughter of WWE Hall of Famer “Nature Boy” Ric Flair, but Charlotte is her own person. She makes a name for herself, not because of who her father is. The former Women’s Champion is royalty herself.

Who is Charlotte Flair?

Ashley Fliehr was born on April 5th, 1986 in Charlotte, NC. Fliehr is a second generation wrestler. In 2013, she started training in WWE. The following year she debuted in NXT. Charlotte Flair was dubbed by the WWE Universe as one of the Four Horsewomen alongside Bayley, Becky Lynch, and Sasha Banks. In 2015, Flair made her main roster debut to spark the women’s evolution alongside Becky Lynch and Paige. They became Team PCB and took on Team B.A.D. (Tamina, Sasha Banks, and Naomi) and Team Bella (Nikki and Brie Bella and Alicia Fox).

Championships and Accomplishments

Flair has more accomplishments to accomplish. However, she is a 6x RAW Women’s Champion (inaugural), 7x SmackDown Women’s Champion, 1x Divas Champion, 1x WWE Women Tag Team Champion, 2x NXT Women’s Champion, and 2020 Royal Rumble winner! The history making moments have not stopped for the Queen. She also was in the first-ever women’s Hell in a Cell with Sasha Banks and she was in the first-ever Last Woman Standing with Becky Lynch.

At WrestleMania 34, she submitted Asuka ending her undefeated streak of 914 days. Also at WrestleMania 35, she was one of the three ladies to main event at Mania for the women.

Her Woooos Won’t Stop Anytime Soon

Charlotte Flair needs to add another history making moment to her name. She needs to become Miss Money in the Bank! Flair is nowhere close to finishing her historical moments. The Queen from the Queen City is only just getting started! Fun fact: WWE is only calling her a 14x Women’s Champion but in total including her tag title reign and her 2x NXT Women’s Champion reigns she has already broken her dad’s reign. I am sure she will eventually tie or break it, and when she does it will be epic!

Becky Lynch

Rebecca Quin was born on January 30, 1987, in Limerick (Dublin), Ireland. Quin began training and working in the Ireland independent circuit. She notably competed in Elite Canadian Championship Wrestling, and in 2015 she became the inaugural SuperGirls Champion. In 2006, Quin suffered a severe head injury during a match which kept her away from wrestling for a long time. In 2012, she signed a contract with WWE.

This is where she became the Irish Lasskicker Becky Lynch and was dubbed as one of the Four Horsewomen. 2015, Lynch debuted on the main roster alongside Sasha Banks and Charlotte Flair to start the woman evolution.

Championships and Accomplishments

Becky Lynch was one of three women to main event WrestleMania 35 for the first time in history for women. She walked out as Becky Two-Belts that night as the RAW and SmackDown’s Women’s Champion after defeating Ronda Rousey and Charlotte Flair. Lynch was also part of the first-ever Last Woman Standing Match.

Lynch has had several championships in her time in WWE. She became the first-ever SmackDown Women’s Champion. Her records stand as: 4x SmackDown Women, 2x RAW Women’s Champion, 1x WWE Women Tag Team Champion, 1x NXT Women’s Champion, and 2019 Royal Rumble winner.

The Man Becky Lynch will keep on making history because she is far away from ever hanging her boots.

Bayley

Pamela Rose Martinez was born June 15th, 1989 in San Jose, California. She is currently signed to WWE as Bayley, leader of Damage CTRL. 2008-2012 she worked the independent circuit under the ring name Davina Rose. In 2012, Martinez signed with WWE and was assigned to the NXT brand. This is where she adopted the ring name, Bayley, instead of using Bailey, the bay part was to represent the bay area.

Martinez made a name for herself in NXT as the hugger. She had a ponytail and came out to inflatable people tubes known as Bayley buddies. She became NXT Women’s Champion making history. Bayley’s main roster debut was on August 22nd, 2016. On October 11, 2019, Bayley had a new look, and new attire, and cut the ponytail off into a bob cut. The ex-hugger even destroyed her Bayley buddies. Hugger no longer but now a Role Model.

Championships and Accomplishments

1x NXT Women’s Champion, First Women’s Grand Slam/Triple Crown Champion, First ever WWE Women Tag Team Champion (where she is a 2x Tag Team Champion), first-ever woman to defend a WWE title in a match in Saudi Arabia. inaugural BBC Love Letter Wrestling Champion. 1x RAW Women’s Champion, 2x SmackDown Women’s Champion (holds the record for longest reign at 380 days), 2019 Money in the Bank winner (cashed in the same night, became champion and the second ever female to do so).

The accomplishments and achievements are far complete for the Role Model. I am hoping she gets a Royal Rumble win under her belt soon. Bayley will keep making history and won’t stop making history till the day she decides to hang up her boots.

Sasha Banks

Mercedes Varnado was born on January 26th, 1992, in Fairfield, California but is billed from Boston, MA. Varnado wrestled under the name Sasha Banks for WWE, and Mercedes Mone’ for New Japan Pro Wrestling. She was in the first-ever Hell in a Cell match with Charlotte Flair. To this day she has one of the greatest Bank Statements in the stairs railing and one of the greatest Iron Woman matches alongside Bayley. The Legit Boss has made history for her name all over the world in wrestling today.

Championships and Accomplishments

Triple Crown Champion, 1x RWC NO Limits, 1x IWGP WC, 1x NXT Women’s Champion, 5x RAW Women’s Champion, 1x SmackDown Women’s Champion, 3x WWE Women Tag Team Champion.

See there is no possible way you can just choose between the Four Horsewomen. They made history in so many ways, you can do nothing but respect and love for them. All four ladies have a total of 41 Championships between the four of them just in WWE history. The history will not stop here for these ladies. There is a future Hall of Fame induction for them, as a group and singles. They were dubbed the Four Horsewomen for a reason.

Thank you Charlotte, Bayley, Becky, and Sasha for everything you do, and most of all for making woman wrestling what it is today alongside others who sparked the evolution.
