The Exorcist: The Believer

The trailer for the new Exorcist was unleashed today. Directed by David Gordon Green who recently was behind the newest Halloween trilogy.

His new vision is a direct sequel to the original 1973 The Exorcist, which brings back veteran actress Ellen Burstyn who reprises her role from the original.

This sequel not only features one possessed girl, but two of them who disappear for days and return home changed.

The Exorcist opens in theaters Friday, October 13th!

Oppenheimer

Oppenheimer is Christopher Nolan’s next film about the man who brought the world the atomic bomb, what twists does Nolan have up his sleeve? I don’t know, but it has become cliche with him. I am excited to see it, although the runtime scares me. Comes out July 21st.

Barbie

Barbie is the story of the doll with the same name. Margot Robbie is perfectly cast as the title character. I am not excited about it, but curious how it will do as it opens the same weekend as Oppenheimer. Comes out July 21.

The Horror of Dolores Roach

Amazon Prime’s new series The Horror of Delores Roach is a twisted and tasty treat! Blumhouse and Amazon studios are behind this new twisted take on the legendary tale of Sweeney Todd by turning the story into a more modern-day tale.

Actress Justina Machado plays the title character Delores Roach who is a serial killer who kills out of necessity rather than compulsion. She portrays a recently incarcerated woman whose friend sets her up with a job as an unlicensed masseuse who operates beneath his empanada shop. Delores Roach’s friend and partner in crime is played by actor Alejandro Hernandez in a very quirky and unhinged performance.

The 8-episode series also introduces us to a wide range of unsavory characters and cannibalism. This series features some lively performances, sick laughs, and outrageous violence. Definitely recommend checking out this Sweeney Todd inspired show. Season 1 is currently streaming on Amazon Prime.

Gran Turismo

A movie based on a video game. After a string of successes on that, I am hopeful. This story is about a video gamer who becomes a racer. This is every gamer’s dream. Comes out August 11th.

Mission Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One

Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning: Part 1 or MI:7 is the continuing story of Ethan Hunt and his team doing impossible missions. They built a working train just to blow it up! Is this another billion-dollar blockbuster? All signs point to yes! Out now.

Evil Dead Rise

The Deadites have been awakened again and fans of the gruesome and campy franchise will be glad to learn that the new Evil Dead Rise is now available to stream on HBO Max. It is also now available to buy on DVD and Blu-Ray. Definitely do not want to miss this blood-drenched wild ride!

The Blackening

They Can’t All Die First! This summer’s hit horror comedy The Blackening arrives at home this Friday, July 7th, and will be available to rent on demand. The Blackening premiered in theaters during the Juneteenth weekend and this horror satire is a complete blast. Viewers will certainly enjoy watching this cast of friends try their best to avoid the most common horror movie tropes that many have fallen victim to before on screen and unmask a sinister game show host. Available to rent now!

Cobweb

A nasty family secret begins to chip away at an 8 year old boy’s over-active imagination when he begins to investigate a sinister force living in the walls of his family home. Releasing in theaters this summer on July 21st.

Dune: Part 2

Dune: Part 2 is the continuation from Dune. I watched the first one, to me it was boring. I am not looking forward to this next chapter in the story. I hear the book is more interesting. Comes out November 3.

Sound of Freedom

Sound of Freedom is a compelling film that talks about a very hard to digest subject, child sex trafficking. I’m excited for this movie because it is bringing a light on this subject. Comes out July 4th.
